The Chairman of Nkanu West LGA, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo, on Tuesday at Nkanu West Local Government Council Headquarters, played host to the Commander of the Enugu State Forest Guard, Dr. Akinbayo O. Olasoji, traditional rulers, security agencies, and community stakeholders on community security engagement.

Dr. Olasoji announced plans to recruit 2,000 to 5,000 new officers into the Forest Guard, assuring a transparent and merit-driven process to support Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s vision of making Enugu the safest state in Nigeria.

Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo emphasized the need to safeguard communities and emerging farm estates, commending the governor’s commitment to security.

Isi-Uzo LGA Chairman, Barr. Obeagu, added:“Governor Mbah’s leadership has made Enugu safer and more secure. I commend Dr. Olasoji for his commitment to protecting our forests and communities.

Present were representatives of the DSS, ACP Alabe (Area Commander, Agbani), the DPOs of Agbani and Ozalla, Barr. Onochie Igwesi, Rev. Okoye, Barr. Chidi Ani, Oz Nwobodo Agbo, councillors, supervisors, town union presidents, and other stakeholders across Enugu East Senatorial District.
