Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has commenced the remodelling of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu and Shop owners around the stadium have been requested to vacate for effective progression of the project.
This is contained in statement made available by Mr. Onyekwelu Nwobodo, Senior Special Assistant, Media to the Governor to PeopleGAZET Newspaper aimed at improving the ugly sights and checkmate dilapidation setting in, in the facility.
According to the statements, “The scope of work covers:
- Installation of a FIFA-standard natural grass pitch
- Rehabilitation of the athletics track
- Roofing of spectator stands
- Upgrade of seating facilities
- Installation of modern floodlighting and a digital scoreboard
- Enhanced access control and safety systems
- Provision of all other supporting infrastructure.
“This is another major investment by the administration of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in sports infrastructure and youth development in Enugu State.” He concluded.
