Reiterates Nkanu West LG readiness to support the Governor in any Party.

” I am ready, Nkanu West Local Government is equally ready and is poised and had since resolved to follow our leader; Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to any political party of his choice, be it APC”

The above statement was made by the Nkanu West LG chairman, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo today at the council headquarters, Agbani while addressing party faithful, stakeholders and people of Nkanu West Local Government on defection notice of the People’s Democratic Party in the state to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Hon. Ogbodo described Governor Mbah as a good leader who has the interest of his people at heart and has demonstrated such love through the construction of numerous projects adding that he is a man to be trusted.

The chairman stated that Nkanu West Local Government had since declared their support to the governor with firm resolve to follow him to any party he may choose believing in his good sense of judgement for the betterment of the state.

Speaking during the event the representative of Nkanu West Local Government at the Enugu State House Of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Iloabuchi Aniagu described politics as a journey which would continue to take party faithful to a destination according to circumstances.

The lawmaker said “our obligations as party members is to follow our leader. In this case our leader has capacity and has shown capacity”. He said that he is proud of the governor’s performance pointing out that the governor could have won 2027 election irrespective of party affiliation.

Hon. Aniagu said that Governor Mbah has put Enugu State in the world map through the introduction of Enugu Air and other enterprising ventures adding that Enugu defection to APC would be highly beneficial.

In his speech, Barr. Sam Ogbu Nwobodo noted that Governor Mbah is the beautiful pride whom is sought after by the APC due to the governor’s superlative performance expressing confidence that Enugu defection will connect the state to the centre with its attendant gains.

Speaking, the Senior Adviser to the Governor on Media, Hon. Dan Nwomeh expressed happiness of the state defection to APC, arguing that such development would ensure the state active participation in the national politics.

Hon.Nwomeh described Igbos as smart people saying that Igbos should endeavour to align with the federal government as to develop their zone pointing out that politics is not about emotion but about who gets what.

The Governor’s media aid charged party faithfuls and stakeholders to embark on aggressive enlightenment campaign and education of the people of the many benefits of aligning and connecting with party at the centre.

In their separate speeches, the traditional rulers of Obuoffia and Attakwu autonomous communities, HRH Barr. Obiora Igwesi and HRH Igwe Gregory Ugwu encouraged the people not to be afraid of joining APC saying that Governor Mbah has made a wise decision having consulted widely.

The royal fathers said that there is need to join the main stream party than playing the opposition adding that with the defection Enugu will benefit from federal participation.

The traditional rulers called on party faithful to embark on what they described as massive mobilization mission ensuring that such would help in getting people informed on the benefits of defecting to APC.

Also in their separate speeches, the deputy majority leader, Nkanu West LGA legislative arm, Hon. Barr. Iren Nnamani and the coordinator, Nkanu West LGA Town Union Presidents , Mr. Jonathan Ugwu pledged their support to the defection while promising to mobilize the grassroots for the support of the new party.

In a vote of thanks, the local government party chairman, Hon. Sunday Onovo said that the defection is a welcome development and has called for more work,adding that the party both at the local level and the ward level must work to deliver the party in the future elections.
