Hon. John Ogbodo, the Executive Chairman of Nkanu West, during his 2024 electioneering campaigns promised to make his administration impactful and inclusive for all in strategic partnership with His Excellency Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
Upon assumption of office on 30th day of September, 2024, Hon John Ogbodo immediately saddled himself first with community engagement . The council boss of Nkanu West enaged all the community leaders and market leaders, which was aimed at Needs Assessment of the various communities and groups.
Within his one year in office, Hon John Ogbodo has demonstrated people oriented leadership, marked by visible projects and undeniable dividends of democracy.
His tenure as Council Chairman brought governmental development closer to the people, which have continued to uplift communities across Nkanu West Local Government.
Today we celebrate Hon John Ogbodo one-year milestone in office, with highlights of some of his remarkable achievements as follows in accordance with the Needs Assessment Report:
✅ Renovation of council Head Quarters
✅ Construction of brand new modern Abattoir at Eke Agbani Town with solar powered borehole to improve hygiene and food safety.
✅ Construction of solar-Powered Public Toilet Facility – constructed at Eke Agbani Town to promote public health, sanitation and to end open defecation.
✅ Ongoing construction of Sexual Assault Referral Center (SARC) in Agbani first of its kind in Nkanu West LGA.
✅ Ongoing construction and fencing of Nkanu West pilot Farm Estate in Amurri.
✅ Ongoing construction of road project at Onunkwo Ndiagu Akpugo.
✅ Ongoing construction of road project at Onuorie Obuno in Akpugo
✅ Construction of Achikpa Bridge-culvert in Akpugo(Completed).
✅ Construction of New Motor Park with Solar-Powered Borehole at Ozalla PH Expressway by Four-Corner, to ease traffic congestion and rid the Expressway of recurrent vehicular road accidents in the area.
✅ Clearing of Drainages and shanties at waterways at Four-Corner aimed at erosion and flood control and free flow of traffic at Four-Corner/ PH Expressway.
✅ Ongoing construction of access roads to all the 14 Smart School in the various Wards of Nkanu West LGA to facilitate ease access to the Schools.
✅ Ongoing road construction at Obuno community to ease transportation and opening up the communities for rapid agricultural and economic growth of the area.
Construction of 14 jumbo Waste Buckets for daily waste collection and evacuation by the waste trucks services.
Ongoing urban regeneration efforts of Nkanu West LGA through beautification of major roads with road signs, marking and daily sanitation by the employed road sweepers.
Hon. John Ogbodo’s first year in office is a testament to visionary leadership, commitment, and services to Ndi Nkanu West.
His administration has proven that governance works best when it directly touches the lives of the people.
Indeed, this first year has laid a solid foundation, and Ndi Nkanu West can look forward to even greater transformation to consolidate these achievements.
