A mammoth gathering of political stakeholders, party faithful, community leaders, women, youths, and grassroots mobilisers from the fourteen political wards of Nkanu West Local Government Area converged at the Nkanu West Council Secretariat on Friday, June 26, 2026, as the organic political movement, G-17 For Peter Mbah, inaugurated its Local Government and Ward Executives in the council area.

The inauguration, which marked another milestone in the group’s statewide grassroots mobilisation drive ahead of the 2027 general elections, witnessed the official signing of the G-17 Endorsement Register by the Executive Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo, popularly known as “Oji Efi Eme Ogo,” signaling the local government’s readiness to deliver Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The endorsement register was formally presented to the council chairman by the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman, and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, as part of the movement’s aggressive grassroots mobilisation and political education campaign across the seventeen local government areas of Enugu State.

Welcoming the high-powered delegation of G-17 to Nkanu West, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo expressed profound appreciation to the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for the numerous developmental projects being executed across the state and particularly in Nkanu West.

He described Governor Mbah as a visionary leader whose administration has redefined governance and accelerated development across every sector of the state’s economy.

“Our Governor has shown uncommon leadership and has demonstrated that government can truly work for the people. The developmental projects we are witnessing across Enugu State are unprecedented, and Nkanu West remains fully committed to supporting him to continue the good work beyond 2027,” the chairman declared.

Hon. Ogbodo charged the newly inaugurated executives of G-17 to remain dedicated, united, and focused on the task ahead.

“You have been called to service. You must go back to your wards and polling units and ensure that our people understand the good works of Governor Peter Mbah and why continuity is necessary. Our collective goal is to deliver all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections,” he said.

The council chairman further assured the movement of his unwavering support and pledged to work closely with G-17 to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and achieve its political objectives across Nkanu West.

In his keynote address, the Director-General and Convener of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, commended Hon. John Ogbodo for his outstanding performance in office, describing him as “One Month, One Project.”

According to him, the chairman’s leadership style has brought visible transformation and development to communities across Nkanu West.

“Anywhere you go in Nkanu West today, there is evidence of purposeful leadership. Hon. John Ogbodo has demonstrated commitment to grassroots development and has justified the confidence reposed in him by the people. He is truly a ‘One Month, One Project’ chairman,” Hon. Dr. Mbah stated.

He charged members of G-17 to remain focused and committed to the aims and objectives of the movement, stressing that the organisation remains the foremost grassroots mobilisation structure in Enugu State.

The Director-General congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and urged them to immediately commence aggressive door-to-door mobilisation, ward-to-ward sensitisation, and political education campaigns.

“You are not ordinary members; you are foot soldiers of democracy and ambassadors of good governance. Go back to your various communities and tell our people about the transformational leadership of Governor Peter Mbah and the need to sustain it beyond 2027,” he charged.

Hon. Dr. Mbah further maintained that Governor Peter Mbah’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, transportation, agriculture, and economic development have earned him the trust and support of Ndi Enugu.

He insisted that the governor’s re-election is a reward for performance and a mandate for continuity.

Also speaking, the Coordinator of G-17 for Nkanu West Local Government Area, Dr. Chinedu Egbo, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Governor Peter Mbah for the massive developmental projects being executed across Enugu State.

He equally commended the Executive Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo, for his unparalleled leadership and unwavering commitment to the growth of the party at the grassroots.

Dr. Egbo assured the leadership of G-17 of his readiness to move the organisation to greater heights in Nkanu West.

“I want to assure our Director-General and the entire leadership of G-17 that we shall remain committed to the ideals and objectives of this movement. We shall work tirelessly to ensure that G-17 remains the foremost grassroots mobilisation structure in Nkanu West and beyond,” he stated.

He called on members to remain united, disciplined, and focused as they work together towards ensuring the success of the APC and the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah in the 2027 general elections.

The event attracted party faithful, traditional rulers, community leaders, women groups, youths, and political stakeholders from all the fourteen political wards of Nkanu West Local Government Area, who applauded Hon. John Ogbodo for his people-oriented leadership and unwavering dedication to the growth and stability of the party.

The ceremony climaxed with the inauguration of the Local Government and Ward Executives of G-17 For Peter Mbah, who collectively pledged total commitment to strengthening the movement across Nkanu West and mobilising massive support for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The inauguration of the Nkanu West chapter further consolidates the statewide expansion of G-17 For Peter Mbah and reinforces its position as one of the most formidable grassroots political movements in Enugu State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
