……APC plot to capture Enugu State.”

By Okey Igwesi.

The shameful and rejected diplomatic request to return the former Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu from Britain to Nigeria to serve out the remaining eight year and six months of his ten year prison term, is yet another diplomatic desperation and humiliation of the APC government’s plot to capture Enugu State for 2027 elections!

Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, the former Deputy Senate President was jailed by a British court for a crime on complicity of organ harvesting of a poor Nigerian who was transported to Britain.

The All Progressive Congress, APC government of President, Ahmed Tinubu in a recent but desperate move, believed that getting Sen. Ike Ekweremadu out of British cell to Nigeria where he is currently serving a ten year prison term will serve as, “a magic ward and big fish” for the party, All Progressive Congress, APC to capture Enugu state whose governor has defected to APC, for the second term presidency of Ahmed Tinubu : and his , come 2027 general election.

This is the politics and campaign behind the request for this Enugu born maverick politician in British prison to come back to Nigeria .

The refusal by the British government to grant this dreadful request, however , is another set back in the dream of the APC to fully penatrate into the South East zone with Enugu State in focus. This is the area and the state the party in the past had been totally rejected!

This atrocious move has equally dented Nigeria’s image before the international community and more, reduced our politicians as a people with low moral value for lives: and the APC as a party and government without defined foreign policy and diplomatic focus. Exposing equally our judicial system as one without hope or be trusted for justice!

Why was the APC government interested to return back Sen Ike Ekweremadu to serve the rest of his prison term in Nigeria? Why was this issue a major concern to President Ahmed Tinubu and his APC government to extent of sending special delegation to Britain to lobby for the release or transfer of this particular prisoner to Nigeria?

If our president truly trust and believe in rule of law: and that all are equal before the law,” why was he very specific on this one prisoner, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu to return to Nigeria: and without due regards and same request for many other Nigerians in British prisons; perhaps with minor offences and prison terms…? These and more are the questions agitating the minds of many.

This is pure hypocrisy! Which the British government may have reasoned out and stood their ground to reject this evil request!

Our judicial process in recent times had become a mockery and what many see as cesspool of corruptions that carnot be trusted . This is very unfortunate and the opinions of many, including the international community who had continued to criticise “this corrupt system”.

Our judiciary has been reduced to “cash and carry” and an exclusive tool in hands of government and corrupt political leaders for intimidation and humiliation of political opponents. and perceived enemies.

Guise what? If this unholy request for transfer of Sen Ike Ekweremadu to Nigeria to continue his prison term had been successful he would have been used as ” a political news and APC symbol, “broom” to deceive the public,: and more,” a political gimick” to campaign to capture the heart of Ndi Enugu, the state where Sen Ike Ekweremadu comes from : and, which the APC had lost hope in the capabilities of , the state governor, Dr Peter MBA who recently decamped from the PDP to APC with expection to deliver Enugu state to APC Come 2027 elections.

The world should note and would have been disappointed to observe the trick the APC as a party would have played, with the return of Sen Ike Ekweremadu had the British government granted this obnoxious request : “before the plane conveying Sen. Ike Ekweremadu could land at any Nigeria airport, the APC government would have instantly on arrival declared him,” a hero” with state pardon and reception into APC”!

This was the plan the British government reasoned on and insisted that Sen. Ike Ekweremadu must serve out his prison term in their country, Britain.
