…as State demolishes kidnapper’s den

Honourable Chief John Chukwuma Ogbodo, Oji Efi eme ogo, Executive Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government, has warned criminal elements and those indulging in criminality in the area to stay clear or face severe consequences and commended His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, Executive Governor for his strong political will and decisive action against insecurity in Enugu State. Chief John Ogbodo, the Mayor, spoke and warned recently at Umueze Awkunanaw, on site during demolition of building used for kidnapping in line with laws of Enugu State and urged Communities’ Presidents-General of Town Union Associations to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the authorities. The Mayor of Nkanu West joined Security Agencies and Officials of Enugu State Government at the Umueze Awkunanaw location where a building used for kidnapping was demolished. According the Chairman, “The prime suspect and his gang had held a victim hostage in the property before Security Operatives rescued the victim and recovered his vehicle and ammunition”.He informed that “Some of the criminals escaped with gunshot wound and the manhunt for the criminals continues”. “I sincerely commend His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah for his strong political will and decisive action against insecurity”, the Mayor said adding that “This demolition reflects his commitment to making Enugu a safe and peaceful place for all”. Warning criminals, Chief Ogbodo said, “Let this serve as a warning and deterrent, no property used to aid crime or harbor criminals will stand in Enugu State. He concluded by urging, “Our Communities’ Presidents-General to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the authorities” saying “Together we will defeat criminality and restore lasting peace in Nkanu West and beyond”.
