The Enugu State Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs has organized a one-day capacity-building workshop aimed at strengthening Town Unions as strategic development partners in Governor Peter Mbah’s administration.
The workshop, held in Enugu, brought together Presidents-General from various communities across the Enugu State, including the Coordinating Chairman of the Enugu State Council of Presidents-General General, Hon. Arinze Nnia Ogbodo, who played an active role in the session.
In his opening remarks, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Rural Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs, Deacon Okey Ogbodo, underscored the importance of synergy between government and Town Unions in driving sustainable grassroots development.
He emphasized that Town Unions must align their developmental plans with the state government’s broader vision under Governor Peter Mbah’s transformative agenda.
Deacon Ogbodo further assured participants that the Ministry is committed to supporting Town Unions through effective policy frameworks, partnerships, capacity training, and continuous engagement aimed at fostering community-driven growth.
In his address, the Chairman of the Enugu State Council of President Generals, Hon. Arinze Nnia Ogbodo, commended Governor Peter Mbah for his unwavering dedication to the holistic development of Enugu State. He urged all President Generals to take full advantage of the workshop to broaden their knowledge and enhance their leadership capacity for the benefit of their respective communities.
Concluding, Hon. Ogbodo also reaffirmed the total support of Town Unions across the state for Governor Peter Mbah’s administration, pledging continued collaboration towards achieving the governor’s vision of a modern, prosperous, and inclusive Enugu State.
