Dr. Peter Mbah made the assessments and mark-passing remarks recently at the grand finale of campaign tours round the 14 Wards for the 26 September 2026 (Saturday)’s LG election.
Represented by Professor Chidiebere Onyia, Secretary to the State Government, Dr. spoke at Holy Angel’s Catholic Church’s playfield venue for Ward 4 Akpugo campaign round up asked the Monmouth crowd to translate numbers into votes come 26 September 2026 election for Chairman Ogbodo ‘s All Progressive Congress (APC) party team and reciprocate same for in the February 2027 Governorship election equally.
According to Governor Mbah, the Nkanu West Council’s performances chart’s reports rank the best of the the 17 Local Government Councils praising Chief John Chukwuma Ogbodo, “Oji efi eme ogo” and canvassing for return for second term.
Earlier at the beginning of the campaign in Akpugo, Chief Hon. Arinze Nnia Ogbodo, Chairman of Enugu State Council of Presidents-General and Special Assistant to Enugu State Governor had commended Chief John Chukwuma Ogbodo, Executive Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government for excellent performance in first term office saying that the incumbent Chairman deserves and is over qualified to the office given unmatched performances.
The Hon. Chairman of the Presidents-General, (P-Gs), Arinze Ogbodo spoke at Ogbodo Edenwene 26 September 2026 during Ward 1 Akpugo Campaign for re-election of John Ogbodo and therefore relayed the endorsement of Obinagu Uwani Autonomous Community for second term office. Arinze Ogbodo, also known as “Oshomwhole” in political palace while pledging and assuring support of the Community endeared the entire Community to troop out enmass coming 26 September 2026 Enugu State Local Government election.
“By so doing”, the P-G’s Council Chairman said, “We would be showing gratitude for the good works that Nkanu West Local Government Council’s Mayor is doing”.
Arinze remarked that Obinagu Uwani Autonomous Community people are 100% All Progressive Congress (APC) party faithful.
The Mayor, Chief John Ogbodo thanked the Ward 1 Obinagu Uwani Akpugo Autonomous Community’s for the overwhelmingly campaign reception by the people.
In the entourage were Barrister Lucky Chukwu, “Enyi kwo nwa”, a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) Special Duties to Enugu State Governor among many others.
The “Ojiefi eme ogo” John Ogbodo Campaign Train moved to Ward 5 Nduino\/Ndiagu Uwani Akpugo where Chief Hon. Osita Sam Ede, “Okwuru Oha Ndiagu Uwani Akpugo Autonomous Community and President-General of Town Unions not only welcomed the Nkanu West Mayor but assured support of the two Communities in the Ward. He thanked the State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah for the good works that his administration is doing.
In Ward 5 touring entourage were Hon. Barrister Sam Nwobodo Ogbu, Commissioner for Establishment, Hon. Desmond Iloabuchi Aniagu, Nkanu West House of Assembly Representative, Chief Igwe Ogenyi, Special Administrative Assistant to the LG Chairman and Chief Hon. Moses Aniemeka Nnamuzie, P-G. and Hon. Onochie Igweshi, Council Secretary.
At Akegbe Ugwu Ward 2, Chairman John Ogbodo who was overwhelmed by large turnout of party faithful wondered and asked if the attendances was for campaign for local government elections asking, “Is the turnouts for Governorship or Presidential campaign?” The Mayor thanked the people of the various Wards and Communities requesting that it would translate into votes for him come 26 September 2026 Local Government, Governorship, Presidential, State and National Assembly elections.
The campaign moved round the 14 Wards of Nkanu West through Ozalla, Akegbe Ugwu Wards 1 & 2, Akpugo Wards 2 & 3 Oriemba, Umueze, Obuoffia, Obe and finally Ward 2 Holy Angels Ndiagu Obuno Akpugo as attended Professor Chidiebere Onyia representing the State Governor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
