KATSINA, Nigeria \u2014<\/strong> The Katsina State Government has unveiled a new fleet of hybrid buses, taking a major stride toward cleaner, more efficient urban transportation under Governor Dikko Umar Radda\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hybrid vehicles, powered by both electric motors and smaller internal combustion engines are designed to cut fuel consumption and reduce harmful emissions, in line with the state\u2019s commitment to sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the unveiling, Project Manager of Zhong Tong Bus, Wei Yanbin<\/strong>, revealed that the state government will procure 30 city buses in the first phase of the initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Katsina State Government has shown great vision by embracing this modern, eco-friendly transit solution,\u201d Yanbin said. \u201cWe will deliver 30 buses, construct three major terminals, and build 60 bus stops along designated routes. This project begins this October and will be completed within six months.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Each bus, according to Yanbin, can carry between 45 and 55 passengers, ensuring comfortable and efficient service for commuters in key urban centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative stems from Governor Radda\u2019s official visit to China last year, where he led a delegation to explore strategic partnerships with leading manufacturers in the transport and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oshi Benard<\/strong>, President of Ben 10 Equipment Company, one of the project\u2019s implementing partners praised the governor\u2019s leadership, describing him as a visionary focused on practical, people-centered progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cGovernor Radda is hard-working, industrious, and deeply committed to sustainable development,\u201d Benard said. \u201cThis project reflects his passion for improving the lives of ordinary citizens and creating opportunities for the youth of Katsina State.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Benard also expressed gratitude for the state\u2019s confidence in the partnership, adding:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want to especially thank Governor Dikko for giving us this great opportunity to promote a world-class project that puts Katsina on the map for clean, modern transportation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

According to project officials, the first phase will cover major cities including Katsina, Daura, and Funtua, with plans already underway to expand the network to other parts of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
